Forward Financial, First National Bank of Niagara contribute to Lions Club fireworks

     Thanks to generous donations from two Niagara financial institutions, the Niagara Lions Club’s annual fireworks display has a good chance of going forward over the Community Picnic weekend in June.

     To kickoff the Lions’ fireworks fundraising, Forward Financial Credit Union last week donated $1,024 to the club. On Monday, First National Bank of Niagara followed up with a $1,000 donation for the fireworks.

     The date for the Lions Picnic Weekend is June 25 - 26. Fireworks will be held Saturday June 26. Donations will be greatly appreciated and are being accepted at Forward Financial as well as First National Bank.

     “Forward Financial Credit Union read recently that previous sources of funding would not be available to help support this event in 2010. We felt this is an opportunity to reach out to our community and help keep the fireworks ongoing at the picnic,” said Char Liebergen.

      Lenore Neveau added: “The Niagara Lions Picnic has been an event my family has attended for many years. It is a cornerstone for Niagara and surrounding communities.  I hope more people will help to support this fundraiser, please join us in supporting the fireworks.”

Contributions can be mailed to: Forward Financial Credit Union, attention Niagara Lions Club Fireworks, P.O. Box 48, Niagara, WI 54151. Additionally, you may drop your donations off at Forward Financial offices in Niagara, Pembine or Iron Mountain.

The First National Bank of Niagara has set up a Niagara Lions Firework Fund account at all of its branch locations in Niagara, Aurora, Florence and Spread Eagle. The public can make any size donation to the fireworks fund.
